How does the role of the hero/sheroe change throughout culture, and what does that say about the society a) which the piece was written, or, b) the time period during which the piece was written?

Once upon a time...

Once upon a time…in a far away land, yet not so far away, in a far and distant time, yet not so long ago, there lived a girl with a very large family, who all loved each other very much. The girl, Raychelle, had a twin brother, Jared, and a younger brother, Simon, and an even younger sister, Reah. They also had many, many aunts, uncles, and cousins. They never fought, only played, joked and laughed. Life was good.

This is a very good beginning to a fairy tale; however, this is not a fairy tale. Or rather, this is not a fairy tale the way classic fairy tales go. This a chronicle of my life as it happened. This is my tale, my yarn, and if you don't like how I spin it, go read Lord of the Flies or some other book by William Golding. Believe or not…it is your choice…
